ACT Score Sending Policy

Here it is: when you send ACT scores to colleges, you have absolute control over which tests you send. You could take 10 tests, and only send your highest one. This is unlike the SAT, where many schools require you to send all your tests ever taken.
This means that you have more chances than you think to improve your ACT score. To try to aim for the school’s ACT requirement of their ACT average and above, you should try to take the ACT as many times as you can. When you have the final score that you’re happy with, you can then send only that score to all your schools.
ACT Superscore Policy
By and large, most colleges do not superscore the ACT. (Superscore means that the school takes your best section scores from all the test dates you submit, and then combines them into the best possible composite score). Thus, most schools will just take your highest ACT score from a single sitting.
We weren’t able to find the school’s exact ACT policy, which most likely means that it does not Superscore. Regardless, you can choose your single best ACT score to send in to Wilmington College, so you should prep until you reach our recommended target ACT score of 18.
SAT/ACT Writing Section Requirements
Both the SAT and ACT have an optional essay section.
Wilmington College considers the SAT Essay/ACT Writing section optional and may not include it as part of their admissions consideration. You don’t need to worry too much about Writing for this school, but other schools you’re applying to may require it
SAT Subject Test Requirements
Schools vary in their SAT subject test requirements. Typically, selective schools tend to require them, while most schools in the country do not.
We did not find information that Wilmington College requires SAT subject tests, and so most likely it does not. At least 6 months before applying, you should still doublecheck just to make sure, so you have enough time to take the test.
Final Admissions Verdict
We couldn’t find the the admission rate for Wilmington College, but we believe you should still have an SAT/ACT target score in mind.
To have the best possible chance of admission, we recommend that you aim for a 1170 SAT or a 23 ACT score. For the average school, achieving this will nearly guarantee you an admissions offer, as it places you well above the average applicant you’re competing against.
You definitely shouldn’t try to apply with a a 940 SAT or a 18 ACT and below. Even if the school is only moderately selective, this score places you well below average and shows that you wouldn’t able to keep up academically with your classmates.

STEP ONE – REQUEST INFORMATION & VISIT
If you have questions about your intended major/minor or the overall Wilmington College experienc.
We’re excited to meet you, so schedule a visit! We’ll give you a tour of our beautiful campus and meet with you to talk about scholarships and financial aid. You can also choose to meet with a faculty member or athletic coach during your visit.
STEP TWO – APPLY
You may apply for admission as early as the start of your senior year. There is NO FEE to apply. The application deadline for fall term is August 1 and spring term is December 1. Apply online now.
STEP THREE – SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPT & TEST SCORES
After completing your application, ask your high school to send us a copy of your transcript. If you have not already done so, also send your ACT/SAT scores to us. Transcripts and test scores may be sent through a transcript service or by email to [email protected]. Your high school may also opt to fax the documents to 937-481-2936 or mail them to Wilmington College Office of Admission, Pyle Center 1325, 1870 Quaker Way, Wilmington, OH 45177.
STEP FOUR – SUBMIT YOUR FAFSA
Complete and submit your Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible at www.fafsa.gov. Include our school code, 003142, so we can access your data and prepare a financial aid award for you. The FAFSA becomes available in October of each year, and should be completed as quickly as possible (e.g., if you wish to begin taking classes in fall 2020, you should submit your FAFSA in fall 2019).
