The University College London (UCL) is a public research university in London, England, and a constituent college of the federal University of London. It is regarded as one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary research universities.
The university was founded on 11 February 1826, and received its original royal charter on 26 April 1836. It is now a collegiate university with 23 faculties and schools spread across three campuses: in Bloomsbury, Camden and Mile End. UCL also has an additional site at Quainton Hall near Oxford with teaching facilities, which are primarily used by the School of Advanced Study and the Institute of Education.
