Student Budget

As you consider financing your medical education, below you will find the Pritzker School of Medicine 2021-2022 estimated student budget. This budget is a good benchmark for calculating the cost of medical education. It is also used by the Office of Financial Aid when calculating aid. If an individual is receiving financial assistance, that assistance cannot exceed the estimated costs provided below.

The standard budget for all students includes the estimated cost of tuition, mandatory fees, disability insurance (based on average class age), and estimated expenses of room & board, transportation, books & supplies, and personal expenses. A universal transcript fee will appear on your Autumn quarter bill unless you have completed coursework at the University of Chicago before your admission to Pritzker School of Medicine. Additionally, you may elect to participate in the University Student Health Insurance Program (U-SHIP) if a parent or your spouse does not currently cover you, or you hold private coverage.

Tuition and fees are set on an annual basis each spring. Tuition generally increases at approximately 2%–4% annually.

Introduction

It’s a well-known fact that attending medical school is expensive.

To illustrate this, consider the median costs of tuition, fees, and health insurance at allopathic medical schools during the 2020–2021 academic year:

  • $63,546 (out-of-state, public medical schools)

On top of this, the median medical school debt for the MD class of 2020 was a hefty $200,000.

List of tuition at every medical school (DO)

In this section, we’ve ranked every DO program in the U.S. in the same way that we ranked MD programs above: from high to low, according to their cost (tuition and fees) to out-of-state students.

(Note: We pulled tuition and fees data from AACOM. While it is reportedly current as of August 2020, there may be minor discrepancies with what schools list on their site. Additionally, AACOM notes that items included under fees vary and may include health insurance.)

Where are the tuitions for osteopathic medical schools? 🙁 This list would be great, but it is missing 36 medical schools.

Shemmassian Academic Consulting 4 months ago · 0 Likes
