After studying in Canada for 18 months, you can apply for a work permit.
To apply for a work permit after your studies, you must have completed and passed at least 10 months of full-time study at an eligible institution.
You can also apply if you have completed and passed at least 6 months of full-time study at an eligible institution and are working on your final year of study.
Work Permit After 18 Months Study In Canada
The other requirement is that you must have complied with all the requirements set out by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
If you have studied in Canada for 18 months or more, you may be eligible to apply for a work permit.
If you are an international student who has studied in Canada for 18 months or more and have not yet applied for a study permit, there’s no need to worry: your eligibility for a work permit will not change.
You can still apply for a work permit when you have completed your studies, provided that:
-you are not currently being assessed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for misrepresentation;
-you do not hold another valid work permit; and
-you were legally admitted to Canada as an international student.
If you have been studying in Canada for 18 months or longer, you can apply for a work permit. To do so, you will need to get an application package from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website or from an immigration office near you.
When filling out the form, make sure to include all of the documents required by law. The process is fairly straightforward, but it does take some time to complete. The fee for processing this application is $200 CAD (about $170 USD).
If you are 18 years old and over, and have been studying in Canada for at least 18 months, you can apply for a work permit. You must be enrolled full-time at an approved Canadian educational institution, and your program of study must be at least eight months long (or one year if you are a graduate student).
