The University of Utah Family Medicine Residency is a new, innovative residency program in Salt Lake City. Founded by renowned family physician Dr. David Hermansen, the mission of the U-FMR is to provide quality family medicine training to applicants who desire to serve in rural and urban communities throughout the Intermountain West. The program’s curriculum is designed to train family physicians who are compassionate, articulate, technically skilled problem solvers and able to work as an independent practitioner or as part of a team.

The Family Medicine Residency of the University of Utah is a one-year family medicine program located within Intermountain Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest health organizations. Through this unique and valuable partnership, residents experience a broad range of clinical opportunities, including primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, geriatrics and general surgery.
