University of Toledo, a public institution, has been offering online bachelor’s degree programs since 1999-2000. The majority of the online classes are recorded and archived so students can access lecture material at their convenience. When applying for the online programs at University of Toledo, it’s important to note that the deadline is rolling.

Dual Admission RN – B.S.N. Partnership with Saddleback College. Earn an associate degree in applied science at Saddleback, while simultaneously working toward your bachelor of science in nursing degree at UToledo via our competency-based RN-BSN program.
The University of Toledo (UToledo) provides an innovative and unique baccalaureate nursing program. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Active, unrestricted, unencumbered U.S. RN license in the state where the student plans to complete clinical experience.
- Graduate from an accredited associate degree nursing program or RN diploma program. Apply to The University of Toledo and send an official transcript from all post high school programs to the Admissions Office.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all accredited higher education coursework. A grade of “C” or higher is required in all required courses. A grade of “C-” is not acceptable.

Will my courses transfer? Use Transferology to assist in determining course equivalency. In addition to the above courses, students should select as many additional courses from the UToledo core curriculum to fulfill the minimum core requirement of 36 credit hours. Additional credit hours may be necessary to achieve the 120 credit hours required for graduation. 30 credit hours of residency required in the nursing major at UToledo.

UToledo’s College of Nursing will offer direct admission into the competitive program of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Requirements include: 3.6 GPA and 23 ACT/1130 SAT, 3.8 GPA for test-optional applicants. Students will then need to maintain a 3.5 higher education GPA (once at UToledo) in order to maintain their guaranteed seat in the program. The priority application deadline for the direct admission option is January 1.
All students are admitted into the pre-nursing BSN curriculum with: 2.75 GPA and 19 ACT/990 SAT and above, 3.0 GPA for test optional applicants. Upon completion of the pre-nursing curriculum, there is a competitive admission process for the professional sequence.
PRE-NURSING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
You may apply pre-nursing to the The University of Toledo (UToledo) with a minimum 2.75 cumulative high school GPA and 19 ACT score or 980 SAT
There is a mandatory placement test for Chemistry and Math; learn more about placement testing here. Please complete all placements tests at least 24 hours before your scheduled Rocket Launch.
You will take nursing prerequisite courses for the first two years on either UToledo main campus Once all prerequisite courses are complete with a grade of “C” or above (a grade of “C-” is not acceptable), then you may apply to the upper division nursing program, where you will complete the nursing curriculum at UToledo’s Health Science Campus for the last two years. All post-secondary, transfer and higher education coursework are used to calculate the cumulative GPA; admission is competitive for the nursing major.

UPPER DIVISION NURSING PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
All prerequisites must be completed prior to application for the nursing major. A grade of “C” or above is required on all prerequisite and nursing courses (a grade of C- is not acceptable).
Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 to be eligible to apply for the upper division professional major. Grades from all college courses determine GPA (college credit plus, PSO, repeated courses and all grade deleted courses. For students applying to the major in Fall 2022, there will be a policy change. Students may apply for up to 18 hours of grade deletion, per University Policy.) Please note, if you were granted guaranteed admission as a freshman, you must maintain a UToledo GPA of 3.5 to qualify for your seat.
Students are required to authorize The University of Toledo to obtain criminal record checks (i.e., BCII and FBI) and are responsible for fingerprinting expenses. Students must declare and document misdemeanor and/or felony offenses that occur prior to admission to the nursing major and/or during program progression. Convictions may result in denial of admission to the major or dismissal after matriculation.
Admission to the professional major is offered fall, spring and summer terms. Students who do not accept placement/seat for the semester offered will reapply for admission.
UToledo College of Nursing will guarantee four (4) upper division seats to Army ROTC UT students meeting the published admission requirements; for either the fall or spring semesters.
