The first ever public university of Rio Piedras, the University of Puerto Rico was founded in 1903. It has the largest campus in the city and boasts an annual enrollment of around 11,657 undergraduates and over 3,200 graduates. The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez is located in the region Porta del Sol on the west side of the island. Our program offers intensive Spanish courses in the summer and online Spanish courses in the regular semester. Courses are communicative and integrate the four language skills: listening, speaking, writing, and reading. We offer small class sizes to our students, which results in more individual attention and increased participation. Class activities are interactive and communicative.

Our professors have vast experience in teaching Spanish to second language learners.
