University of Debrecen History

The University of Debrecen also known as Debreceni Egyetem is a university located in the town of Debrecen, Hungary. The university was established in 1583 and is the oldest educational institution in the country. Presently, the university enrolls 27,000 students and employs 2000 academic staff.
