University of Bridgeport Admission Deadlines
Admissions at the US universitiestakes place twice a year i.e. during the fall and spring season. However, the admission office receives applications throughout the year as international applicants can apply 12 months prior to the start of their program. Admission Requirements
- Applicants are required to submit academic records. These records include mark sheets, academic transcripts, final examination results, diplomas and degree certificates of Class 10 (SSC), Class 12 (HSC), O levels, A level, WAEC, CXC, IB etc.
- Applicants who are submitting non-English academic records: These applicants need to submit word-for-word notarized/ certified or attested translations in English following the same format as of the official document to be translated.

International students are not permitted to waive the insurance. Distance Learning, School of Professional Studies, graduate and part-time students residing off-campus are not charged or covered under the UB insurance plan.

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program is designed to prepare a graduate nurse for entry-level practice in a variety of healthcare settings, to provide the foundation for graduate education and/or continued education as a life-long learner, and to contribute to quality patient outcomes.

RN to BSN Online
The RN to BSN completion program curriculum has a total of 120 credits and is made up of three parts: basic nursing courses, general education requirements and upper level nursing courses. Students may transfer up to 90 credits from previous nursing program coursework from accredited institutions.

The MSN in Leadership and Education is a one track, dual focused online degree program. The dual focus of leadership and education will provide graduates with career opportunities to work in clinical leadership and/or academic nursing environments either in separate positions or simultaneously in a joint position.

Nursing Skills & Simulation Center
The seventh floor of the Health Sciences Center has been renovated to provide a state of the art Nursing Skills and Simulation Center.
The Center has a Nursing Skills area consisting of 10 beds with the ability for students to video record their practice sessions to be played back for self-correction prior to testing.
The Nursing Skills Center includes a debriefing room, a two bed Simulation Center with a computer control room equipped with two-way mirrors. The Simulation rooms are equipped with the Laerdal Sim View System and patient simulators of Sim Man 3G and Sim Mom. Also, the floor is equipped with a Community Health room that simulates a patient bedroom and bathroom at home for transition of skills to the home environment.
The Nursing Skills Center additionally has a 48 seat theater style lecture hall with Smart Board technology. Three (3) manikins, Nursing Anne, Nursing Kelly, Nursing Kid with Sim Pad system, Pyxis machine and Console, and Welsh Allen Diagnostic wall units have been installed. All medical and surgical equipment and supplies have been stocked in the store rooms for clinical skills practice labs.

University of Bridgeport is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and the Connecticut Office of Higher Education. The University of Bridgeport’s School of Nursing is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

The Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing pre-licensure program is approved by the Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing and licensed by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education.
The RN to BSN Completion post-licensure program is approved and licensed by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education.
