The University of Bergen (UiB) has an acceptance rate of 76.8%, making it one of the most selective universities in Norway.
The university accepts applicants who meet the following criteria:
- The applicant has completed secondary education or equivalent; and
- The applicant has achieved a qualifying grade point average (qualifying GPA) of 3.5 or higher in their final two years at high school/secondary school; and
- The applicant has completed at least 30 credits at a university level before application; and
- The applicant can demonstrate proficiency in English by either passing an English language test or presenting evidence of having studied for at least 4 semesters at a university level where English is the primary language of instruction; and
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum score on the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) – Standard Level Examination that corresponds with Level 5 on the IB scale.*
