GREETINGS FROM THE DEAN

Welcome to the School of Medicine of NKUA, the first established Medical School in southeastern Europe.

The School of Medicine was founded in 1837.  It has been delivering exceptional education and innovative research activity for 184 years and it is among the 150 best Medical Schools in the world. 

Today the School has an enrolment of 3054 undergraduate and 5000 postgraduate students. 

It offers an Undergraduate Program which consists of 60 compulsory courses and 99 elective courses. Moreover, it offers 65 Postgraduate Programs. 

The Undergraduate Program will be offered in English for foreign students the following academic year (2022-2023). 

The School includes a total of 86 University Medical Departments and Laboratories located in the campus at Goudi, in University Hospitals (Attikon, Laiko, Aretaieio, Aiginiteio) and in NHS Hospitals (Ippokrateio, Sotiria, Evangelismos, Alexandra, Agia Sophia, Aglaia Kyriakou, Genimatas, Sismanogleio, A. Syngros, KAT, Agia Olga), that provide daily, high-quality health services in the Athens metropolitan area. These Departments are also reference centers, run by our School’s faculty members and facilitate patients from all over the country with high expertise medical care.
