umbc Undergraduate Tuition

UMBC undergraduate tuition is set by the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland. The undergraduate tuition rate is established by the Board of Regents on an annual basis and takes effect each July 1st. The tuition rate is based on the cost of providing educational services to students and other factors.

The UMBC undergraduate tuition rate for full-time, resident students for the current academic year (2019-2020) is $11,820 per semester or $23,640 for a full year. This tuition rate applies to students who are residents of Maryland at the time they enroll in school. Students from other states must pay non-resident rates as determined by their home state’s policy. Those students who qualify for in-state tuition may apply for a waiver by completing an application form with their admissions application.

Out-of-state or international students will be charged a higher rate because they do not receive any state or federal financial assistance, such as grants or loans which help keep costs low for Maryland residents.
