The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is a public research university and one of the 10 general campuses of the University of California system. The main campus is located on a 1,022-acre site near Isla Vista, California, United States, 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and approximately 35 miles from Downtown Los Angeles.

The university occupies over 80 buildings and 500 acres of land on the central campus, designed by architect William Pereira.
