The University of Chicago (UChicago or U of C) is a private research university located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Incorporated in 1890, the university is situated on a 200-acre campus located approximately 5 minutes south of the Loop in the community area of Hyde Park. It is noted as one of the world’s most important centers of academic research. The world-renowned Rockefeller Foundation described the University of Chicago as having produced more Nobel prize winners than any other undergraduate institution in America. For more than a century, UChicago has been a leader in higher education, and prior to creating this website this fall, I thought it was a perfect fit for me. I’ve chosen to solely focus my studies here with the intent to Graduate in 2019 with a BBA/BSBA in economics.

Uchicago Early Action Acceptance Rate
Uplifting itself on the ranking table for 2021, the University of Chicago has become 6th popular as per the US News. The University of Chicago is a private university offering over 67 undergraduate and 48 postgraduate courses. Students eyeing courses at University of Chicago must note that the online admission begins from November 1 with an application fee of $75.
For class 2024, 34,372 applications were received by the University of Chicago. Out of which, 2,511 were accepted representing an acceptance rate of around 7.30%. Due to the selective admission procedure, students scoring 7 band in IELTS and 104 score in TOEFL are only taken forward. Apart from this, the university also requires written essays, LORs, online videos and various documentation to select the right candidate.
International students planning to get enrolled into the University of Chicago must prepare themselves for an average fee of $77,714 annually. Various expenses including tuition, books, housing, meals and health insurance in the USA are calculated under the same. However, keeping the higher fee in mind, several scholarships in the US are provided by the university to the students on merit and extracurricular basis. Further, once the program ends, 94% of the students graduate and most of them are offered an annual package of $81,514.

The University of Chicago Campus and Accommodations
Surrounded by the green botanical gardens all around, the campus of Chicago University is one of the best in the world. The campus is located near Hyde Park and 70% of the students are accommodated there. Hyde Park is a hub for dining and shopping complexes so that students get access to everything they require.
- The university comes with an in-built dining option and students can opt for plans accordingly. The facility is incorporated to let students make bonds over good food.
- The three dining options available for students at the campus are Bartlett, Cathey, and Baker Dining Commons. First year students are required to opt for a dining meal plan. However, it can be changed post first year as per the preference.
- Various events such as Scav Hunt, Kuviasungnerk/Kangeiko, Summer Breeze, Study Breaks, Doc Films, University Symphony Orchestra’s Halloween Concert are organised every year to indulge students into extracurricular and fun activities.
- A cultural fest named FOTA is also organised every year by the university to promote art amongst the students.
- Shuttle and CTA bus service is provided to students for travelling nearby. Students with the help of their university ID cards can access these facilities.
