Technical University, Dortmund had a total enrolment of 34,616 students across various undergraduate and graduate programs for the session of 2017- 2018. More than 60% of students are enrolled in engineering programs while the remaining 40% in cultural studies and social sciences programs.

Enrolment of international students decreased slightly from 3,760 in 2016-17 session to 3,748 in 2017-18 session. New admissions for winter semester at TU Dortmund University also decreased from 6,600 in 2017-18 to 6,120 in 2018-19.
