Torrey Honors Institute (THI) is a prestigious honors program at Biola University. It was founded in 1987 by Dr. Henry M. Torrey, a former president of the university who also established the Torrey Honors College at Biola. The mission of THI is to provide a rich academic community for gifted students who want to pursue knowledge with rigor and intensity.
In addition to its research-based curriculum, THI offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including debate and forensics, drama club, student newspaper, and service opportunities with local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.
Admission into Torrey Honors Institute is highly competitive — only 40 new students are accepted each year out of more than 400 applicants!
