In the springtime of 1926, the company had opened the Embry Riddle School of Aviation. What followed was a merger with Aviation Corporation (AVCO) and the school was closed in 1930. In 1939 Riddle, John Graham Mckay and his wife Isabel had re-established the school located in Miami, Florida.

They had partnered with the University of Miami after they kept the name so that they can provide training for operating flights under the Civilian Pilot Training Program thereby increasing the total number of pilots immediately before World War II. This is a non-profit university that is ranked as the level six institute by the Southern Association of colleges and schools so that they can award degrees at bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and associate levels. The university programs are accredited by the Aviation accreditation board International (AABI).

The programs are that of air traffic management, aeronautical science, applied meteorology, flight operations, aerospace, and occupational safety and airport management. The campus holds various short programs on aviation that are taught in classrooms by experts in the industry. There are courses like that of Unmanned Aircraft Systems to that of Aircraft Accident Investigation and Management that are crafted for the professionals who are involved in the operations, supervision, and management of the organizations of aviation.
