Established in 1965 as Algoma College, Algoma University is an open university that was initially an affiliate of Laurentian University in Sudbury. It was then changed to Cambrian College and later, the university was renamed to Algoma University. In 2009, the university conferred its first degree as an independent university. AP Transfer Credit Eligibility
Applicants who have completed AP exams with a minimum final grade of 4 will be eligible to receive university credit recognition for up to a maximum of 12 credits (or two full courses). Your results must be sent directly from the College Board in order to be considered for credit.
AP Scholarship Eligibility

Algoma University Scholarships

Work study option- International students are not permitted to work on campus but they can work off campus under a number of regulations. They must have a study permit and maintain strong academic standing as per the university’s rules. Students are allowed to work upto 20 hours a week during study sessions and upto 40 hours a week during vacations. The co-operative program allows students to pursue a course and gain employability in their field while studying. They should maintain a 70% average and must be enrolled full time.
