Stanford University Campus

The university is housed on one main campus located in the center of the San Francisco Peninsula. Settled on a 8,180 acres of total land, the Stanford University campus is located on six different governmental jurisdictions. The campus is structured with700 buildings, 150 companies located in the 700-acre Stanford Research Park, 140 retail stores in the Stanford Shopping Center, 900 housing units for faculty, etc.

Stanford University Application Process

Stanford University Admissions observe an early application and regular decision deadline of November 1 and January 2. 

Application portal: Admission applications to Stanford University are available online. Students can apply through the school portal, Common Application, or Coalition Application. 

Application fee: Undergraduate: 90 USD. Graduate: 125 USD

Admission Process Time: Three to four weeks

Admission Requirements: To apply for admissions, international students must fulfill the following requirements: 

  • Completed application form and payment of non-refundable application fee
  • School Report and counselor letter of recommendation
  • Certified electronic transcripts from all educational institutions attended
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Personal Essay
  • Letters of Recommendation from two teachers

Stanford University Scholarships or Financial Aids

The institute provides various kinds of financial aid for its aspirants in the form of scholarships, grants and loans. However, there is a limited amount of scholarships for international students to study in the USA that the university offers. Thus, international applicants needing assistance must indicate the same on the admission application.

Nearly 5,000 students received some form of financial aid for their cost of attendance, both internally and externally at Stanford University. Around 66% of students received financial aid to cut down the total cost of attendance while 47% candidates were awarded need-based scholarships and grants with hardly 18% of the students graduating with debts.

To be eligible for scholarship funds, international students must possess either an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) or a Social Security number (SSN). International candidates are not eligible for student loans or federal aid from U.S. government agencies.
