My children received a top notch education, were well-prepared for college, and were given many tools for success in there time here. The teachers are caring, attentive, well-educated, and always go the extra mile for student well-being. Oak Ridge Schools has not only focused on STEM learning that emphasizes the whole child with 21st Century skills, beginning in PreK, but offers a wide variety of programming for AP, Dual Enrollment, and College, Career, and Technical Education courses. Students leave this district well-prepared for future life success.

ReportStart Your Review of Oak Ridge School DistrictRate It!Rating 4 out of 5 The academic, arts, and sports programs are the best in the area. Being near the DOE facilities and two local and one state university offers so many collaborative efforts. It also brings in top notch teachers. The arts program is fantastic with the chorus, band, and orchestra placing with high honors repeatedly. There is almost any sports imaginable, and it’s not always for those that seek competition. All of these programs start in elementary school and are carried through high school. Being an honors student I feel I have been well prepared for college. There are interest groups/clubs for everything as the school makes it easy to start such. My only issue is with the favoritism to the over 4.0 GPA group; it can make for a stressful environment. Also, diversity should be handled better. School staff need to be better trained to handle the diverse school body.

ReportRating 4 out of 5 We live in a relatively small town, and everyone knows everyone. I have enjoyed having teachers that also taught my parents. My teachers and administrators have been approachable and helpful when I had questions or concerns about material or workload. They have been flexible with deadlines and provided opportunities to retake quizzes to improve scores. I had a wonderful elementary experience in this district and a good experience at the middle school level as well.
