Randy Sanders has scored a total of $2,770,000 from post-termination lump sum payments, and various other compensation statements. The breakdown includes $1,200,000 from what can be termed as “endorsement” deals. This is the amount he received for endorsing several products for marketing purposes. As for his regular income — it’s $1,470,00/year that covers his salary as well as all bonuses he may get on the basis of company’s performance.



Randy Sanders earns a new contract with ETSU Bucs football

big season in Randy Sanders’ debut as East Tennessee State’s football coach yielded a new contract for the former Tennessee player and longtime assistant.
ETSU announced Friday a five-year deal with Sanders that runs through Dec. 31, 2023. It replaces a four-year contract that Sanders signed in December 2017. 
Sanders did not receive a bonus. He’s still set to earn $255,000 annually, including a base salary of $225,000 and annual stipend of $30,000. The incentive-laden deal includes performance and academic bonuses that add up to at least $150,000 annually.



Sanders also is in line for retention bonuses of $25,000 if he remains the Buccaneers’ coach on July 2019, July 2021 and July 2023.
“I am excited to build off last season’s success and continue taking this program to new heights,” Sanders said in a news release. “I appreciate the support from the university, community, administration and players, and we are ready to see what the future holds.” 
Sanders earned Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors in his rookie season. He guided the Bucs to an 8-4 record and the first round of the FCS playoffs. It marked the second playoff appearance in program history.
ETSU lost 59-3 to Tennessee on Sept. 8 at Neyland Stadium.



Sanders was named one of 15 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Award, given to the national coach of the year at the FCS level. The Bucs finished ranked No. 21 in the FCS coaches’ poll.
“ETSU football made history this year under the direction of head coach Randy Sanders, and I could not be more proud of our Buccaneer football program,” ETSU Athletic Director Scott Carter said in a news release. “Excitement around ETSU football is at an all-time high due to the leadership of coach Sanders. I look forward to working with him for many years in the future as we build on the outstanding tradition of ETSU football.”

Sanders, a Morristown native, was a backup quarterback for the Vols in the 1980s. After his playing career, he joined UT’s coaching staff, where he served from 1989 to 2005. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in advance of Tennessee’s Fiesta Bowl win over Florida State to capture the BCS national championship to conclude the 1998 season.
Sanders coached at Kentucky and Florida State after Tennessee before returning to his home state to become a head coach for the first time.

Randy Sanders has worked as a Professor of Architectural Engineering at the University of Kentucky since 1998. Prior to joining the faculty, Randy spent ten years in the private sector at Holton Engineering and Boeing.
