Private universities in Ghana offering public health courses include:

Universities of Professional Studies, established in 2003 as a private university. The university offers courses in medicine, nursing and public health among others.

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), established in April, 2010 and located at Ho, Volta Region. The university offers courses in medicine, dentistry, nursing and public health among others.

The University of Professional Studies (UPSA), established in 2005 as a private university in Ghana. The university offers courses in medicine, dentistry and public health among others.

The University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS), established as a constituent college of the University of Ghana in 1948 as the Medical Training Centre (MTC). The school became an independent medical school on 1 July 1986 with its own governing council and administration separate from the University of Ghana but with ties to it through joint programmes and research projects. The school also works closely with other universities such as Kumasi Polytechnic and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science Technology (KNUST) on joint programmes leading to degree awards.
