Admissions Procedures (General)

Minimum requirement

Candidates for enrollment at Platt College San Diego must possess a regionally accredited high school diploma or the recognized equivalent (i.e., a General Education Development “GED” certificate, a high school equivalency certificate such as the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)) prior to enrollment.

When to Apply

  • Platt College San Diego has continuous admissions; applications are accepted all year round: Platt College San Diego Application
  • Classes begin every five-weeks
  • It is recommended that you apply as early as possible. Acceptance continues all-year-round; however, space is limited per class.

How to Apply

  1. Schedule your personal tour »
The first step in the admissions process is to meet with an admissions representative to review your goals, discuss the programs in detail, tour the campus to get the feel for the creative culture, and meet with the Financial Aid/VA department to answer any questions you may have about funding your investment in you. A telephone interview may be arranged when travel distance makes an in-person visit difficult.
  2. Schedule your acceptance appointment
At the end of your personal tour, and if the Admissions Representative determines that you have the drive, passion, and creativity to benefit from the program, the Admissions Representative will schedule an acceptance appointment with you to submit the Admissions Application (NO application fee), take the acceptance test (Wonderlic – Scholastic Level Exam), and meet with the Financial Aid Department to determine your options for funding. There is no obligation to enroll. We wish to supply you with all of the information that would help in your decision for your education.

Wonderlic – Scholastic Level Exam (SLE):

Platt College San Diego requires the Wonderlic (SLE) to determine college readiness. You must complete the SLE and essay either in person or it can be administered out-of-area by your current teacher, counselor, librarian, or alike.

In lieu of the Wonderlic (SLE) an ACT score of 17+ or SAT score of 1200+, taken within two-years of entrance to PCSD, may fulfill the acceptance test requirement. However, the Wonderlic (SLE) will determine if you may be eligible for one of PCSD’s institutional scholarships. See the Scholarship Page for more information.

Other documents you will be required to submit for full enrollment into the programs:

  • Official transcripts from graduated High School or GED.
  • Official transcripts from ALL colleges’ previously attended to receive maximum transfer credit. If applicable.
