In the United States, the average salary of a phlebotomist is $33,000 per year. This is quite high compared to most other jobs in the country. This job is also one of the most common careers available today. There are many different types of jobs that you can do as a phlebotomist, which means that there are various places where you can find employment. One of these places is hospitals. If you want to work at a hospital as a phlebotomist, then it’s important that you know how much money you will make each year.

Phlebotomy technicians who work at hospitals usually earn around $26 per hour on average. Phlebotomy Technician II (Current Employee) – Atlanta, GA – July 25, 2020

I don’t have anything to add outside of my rating. I had many opportunities at Emory that I would have never experienced elsewhere. The only downside was a lack of consistency and advocacy.

Overall, good place to work.

Laboratory Phlebotomy Technician (Former Employee) – Atlanta, GA – February 25, 2014

I enjoyed my tenure with Emory University Hospital, overall. The biggest complaint I have is staffing levels. They would not hire enough phlebotomists to handle to a very heavy workload, ensuring on-time blood draws that are necessary for effective patient care.

Pros

A top hospital in the country for patient care.

Cons

Low staffing, pay is a little on the low side.

This was by far the worse experience i had in healthcare. Working in the lab was an absolute disaster! The favoritism- childishness.. and that’s just management. No job is worth your sanity. You are overworked unless your best friends with management. The nurses in the floor speak to you however they want and your supervisor and management always take their side and never stand up for you. The only good thing is the name from Enory on your resume. But sometimes even that isn’t worth it. Don’t even waste your time applying unless it’s for another department but stay away from phlebotomy.
