The Open Enrollment program is designed to provide opportunities for students to attend one of the state’s public colleges and universities. Students who meet certain criteria can choose which college they want to attend, even if they are not residents of Georgia.
There are several reasons why you might consider enrolling in an open enrollment program:
You want to complete your degree at a school that offers a particular program that is not available where you live. For example, you may be interested in attending a school that offers an associate’s degree in nursing or criminal justice.
You want a more affordable education than what is available at nearby colleges and universities. For example, many out-of-state schools offer lower tuition rates than in-state institutions. Some even offer free tuition for eligible students!
You want access to specific educational programs that are not offered by any local colleges or universities. For example, some online schools have specialties such as medical billing or graphic design that are not offered at local institutions.
