The oil field can be a lucrative career path, but it’s not for everyone. There are many entry-level jobs in Texas that will prepare you to work in the oil field, but they don’t all pay as well as you might expect. The best way to get started is by taking a few classes at your local community college or trade school.
Oil Field Entry Level Jobs In Texas
The oil and gas industry is always looking for new employees with high school diplomas or GEDs. You’ll need to be willing to relocate anywhere from three months to three years depending on the job, so make sure that you have family support before applying for one of these positions.
Water Truck Driver: Water truck drivers haul barrels of water out on the drilling site where they’re needed most—usually near where workers are working hard under hot conditions. These drivers usually work during daylight hours because there’s less traffic on the roads at night when transporting heavy loads like this one could be dangerous if not done correctly.
Cement Truck Driver: Cement trucks are needed at every construction site where concrete is poured into forms and allowed to dry before being removed so that another layer can be added on top of it as well as underneath it until the project
