Nyu Tisch Dramatic Writing Acceptance Rate

The New York University Tisch School of the Arts is an American private university in New York City. It was founded in 1965 by the American Film Institute (AFI) to advance the study of dramatic arts in the United States. Tisch is part of NYU and is a member of the League of Professional Theatre Training Programs.

The acceptance rate for NYU Tisch is 9%, making it more selective than any other school we looked at. The acceptance rate is also higher than top-ranked universities like Harvard (5%) and Stanford (6%).

The acceptance rate for the Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing MFA program is about 2%.

The school offers a number of degrees, including an MFA in Dramatic Writing, an MA in Playwriting and a BA in Acting. The MFA program is open to students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher, while the graduate programs are open to applicants with bachelor’s degrees as well as those who have a high school diploma.

Students who are accepted into the program will find themselves immersed in a world-class theater and film community that includes faculty members like Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced). The curriculum includes courses on playwriting, screenwriting, poetry and more. Admission requirements include transcripts, letters of recommendation and an application fee.
