The New York University Shanghai has the following requirements:
- High-school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- SAT total score of 1260 (critical reading and math) or ACT score of 26
- TOEFL score of 100 overall, with no less than 20 on each subtest (written expression, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and speaking). If English is not your native language, you must provide an official copy of your high school transcript or GED certificate as proof that you have already completed the equivalent of three years of high school in English-speaking countries
Nyu Shanghai GPA Requirements:
The NYU Shanghai GPA requirements are a bit higher than those of other NYU campuses. Students must achieve an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to be admitted to the program. However, international students must have their transcripts evaluated by the Center for Global Academic Initiatives (CGAC). They will then receive a CGAC recommendation as to whether or not they should be admitted based on their GPA, test scores and other factors. If you are an international applicant who has been accepted into a degree program at NYU Shanghai, then you are eligible for financial aid from NYU’s Office of Financial Aid.

NYU Shanghai is a degree-granting institution. The minimum requirements for admission to NYU Shanghai are the same as those required by NYU’s other campuses. To be eligible for admission to NYU Shanghai, applicants must have completed their secondary education, or its equivalent, and must have achieved a satisfactory score on the SAT (for applicants from China) or ACT (for applicants from other countries).
The application deadline for Fall 2019 is December 1, 2018.
