Founded in 1996, Norges teknisk-naturvitenskaplige universitet (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Trondheim (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Trondelag. Officially recognized by the Kunnskapsdepartementet, Norge (Ministry of Education of Norway), Norges teknisk-naturvitenskaplige universitet (NTNU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational Norwegian higher education institution. Financing
There are no tuition fees at NTNU.
However, students do need to cover their own living expenses.
Furthermore, all international students who are not citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA countries must be able to document that they have enough funding to live in Norway in order to be granted a student visa. Read more about documenting financing here.
Stipends and loans for master´s degree students
NTNU does generally not offer any stipends/scholarships or loans. However, we recommend that you investigate if there are any funding opportunities yourself. Below are some possibilities that may be of relevance. Any specific scholarships offered by NTNU will be listed here.
- Erasmus Mundus: scholarships for Eu-students
- Anglo-Norse Society: £2,500 is awarded each year to the best qualified British citizen receiving admission to a master´s degree at NTNU. You do not need to apply.
- EU loans: Some EU countries offers its citizens favourable loans to help you finance a master degree in an Erasmus+ Programme country
- NORPART MA Scholarships: NTNU offers five scholarships to students from Ethiopia who will pursue MPhil in childhood studies in the academic year 2020/21.
Master’s programmes in English
There are three types of English master’s degrees offered at NTNU:
International Master’s
International master’s degrees are programmes taught entirely in English where the student studies for two years at NTNU.
Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus Master’s
A programme where the student takes part of his or her studies at NTNU and part of his or her studies at other partner institutions and is awarded a joint or double degree at the completion of the programme.
Joint Nordic Master’s
A programme where the student takes part of his or her studies at NTNU and part of his or her studies at a Nordic partner institution and is awarded a joint or double degree at the completion of the programme.
