MSc Industrial Chemistry

The MSc Industrial Chemistry course is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in industry and commerce as well as research and development. It provides training in the analysis of chemicals, their properties and applications. The course will provide a solid foundation in chemical engineering, chemistry, analytical chemistry and industrial chemistry. The course will also give you the opportunity to understand modern industrial processes, their design and how they can be optimised by means of mathematical modelling techniques.

The programme is aimed at those who wish to pursue careers in the chemical industry or other industries where chemical knowledge is essential e.g. pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, food & beverages etc. Students on this course are required to have an interest in mathematics and computer science as these subjects are taught during the first year of study.

MSc Industrial Chemistry

Msc Industrial Chemistry (MScIC) is a two-year master’s degree programme in chemical engineering. The course covers all aspects of modern industrial chemistry, including research and development, as well as preparation of technical reports and presentations. Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in industry or academia.

The course offers a broad education in industrial chemistry with an emphasis on material science and polymer chemistry related topics. Students will develop the ability to design, process and analyse chemicals in order to meet specific technical requirements. The programme also includes courses on management skills, project management, economic analysis and environmental impact assessment techniques.

Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry is a two-year full time program. For the first year, students learn about various concepts of industrial chemistry and their applications in industries. The second year is focused on research work where students work on projects assigned by their professors.

The coursework includes various topics like process design, chemical engineering, polymer science, etc. The coursework also includes practical training at industry sites which helps the students to understand the industrial environment.

After completing the coursework, students have to complete dissertation research project under the guidance of their professors. The dissertation project will be evaluated by an external examiner who will assign a grade based on the quality of research work done by student
