Mike White is the head basketball coach at Texas. He has been coaching college basketball since 2007 and has had a lot of success at multiple programs.
His first head coaching job came in 2007 when he was hired by Louisiana Tech. He led them to a 20-14 record and an appearance in the NIT that year. In June 2015, White agreed to a six-year contract with the Ducks worth about $237,500 annually, according to the Eugene Register-Guard. The school wasn’t interested in giving White another raise after being pursued by Texas, so he left.
The Longhorns are scheduled to pay White a base salary of $450,000, according to salary information obtained through an open records request. White agreed to a guaranteed five-year contract with Texas.
“I still have a lot of energy and time left to make an impact, and Texas has the backing and resources to do just that,” White said at his introductory press conference.
Del Conte also opened the vault for new track and field coach Edrick Floréal. After leaving Stanford in 2012, Floréal received a base salary of $200,000 his first year at Kentucky. Now at Texas, Floréal will receive $450,000 in the first year of a five-year contract, according to UT records.
