PROFESSOR MICHAEL DOWLING

Professor Michael Dowling is Full Professor of Finance at DCU Business School. He has previously worked at Rennes School of Business, the University of Essex, and Trinity College Dublin.Professor Dowling holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin on the topic of investor psychology, and a Masters in Banking and Finance from Stirling University.His research concentrates on aspects of financial technology, understanding financial behaviour, and applying data science techniques to finance. This has been published in leading international journals including: Research Policy; Journal of World Business; Energy Economics; Energy Journal; and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money.

Professor Dowling’s current research interests are very much at the intersection of research and industry, especially around financial technology, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any ideas in this space for collaborative projects. Potential PhD candidates are also very welcome to contact him with research proposals.

First International Banking & Finance Research Conference (IBFRC) on October in Morocco

Ibn Zohr University Business School (ENCG Agadir), Rennes School of Business, and the IGR-IAE – University of Rennes 1 are pleased to announce organization of the first International Banking & Finance Research Conference (IBFRC).

The First International Banking & Finance Research Conference (IBFRC) will take place in Agadir (Morocco) on 9-10 October 2019. It aims at bringing together scholars from all over the world for exchange of ideas, discussion of recent results within theoretical and applied research in banking and finance related fields.

Only full papers, including an abstract of no more than 300 words, will be considered. All submissions will go through a blind peer-review process. Therefore, authors’ names and details (affiliations and addresses, including that of co-authors), and email address of the corresponding author should appear on a separate cover page.
