Masters In Medicine UK Overview

The Doctor of Medicine is a 24-month (full-time) or 48-month (part-time) program that culminates in a research project. Applicants must hold an MBChB degree or equivalent medical degree, and the nature of the research project must require the candidate to have specialist clinical knowledge and/or skills in order to complete at least one aspect of the study. Consequently, it is expected that all MD candidates will have a clinician as part of the supervisory team.

Applicants are normally hospital clinicians working in the UK undertaking research associated with their employment. If you are an overseas student you would not be able to undertake any clinical work, unless you are currently working in the NHS.
