Requirement For The Masters in Computational Mechanics
The required documents:
- Printed and signed online application form
- An above-average Bachelor’s, Master’s degree (or a degree equivalent to these from a German Fachhochschule) in some field of science or engineering
- a solid background in mathematics
- a strong background in engineering, structural, and/or applied mechanics
- sufficient background in computational programming

About The Computational Mechanics Masters
Computational knowledge and skills for the numerical simulation of mechanical problems including modelling techniques and case studies in civil and mechanical engineering, especially in finite element methods, computer aided modelling and visualisation, continuum mechanics, structural dynamics, material mechanics, applied mathematics, advanced computational methods, and distributed computing
Graduates will be qualified to find employment in a wide range of professions – as research and development engineers or as technical advising managers in industry, at laboratories, or at universities.
Computational Mechanics Scope
Aims and scope
The journal reports original research of scholarly value in computational engineering and sciences. It focuses on areas that involve and enrich the application of mechanics, mathematics and numerical methods. It covers new methods and computationally-challenging technologies.
Areas covered include method development in solid, fluid mechanics and materials simulations with application to biomechanics and mechanics in medicine, multiphysics, fracture mechanics, multiscale mechanics, particle and meshfree methods. Additionally, manuscripts including simulation and method development of synthesis of material systems are encouraged.
Manuscripts reporting results obtained with established methods, unless they involve challenging computations, and manuscripts that report computations using commercial software packages are not encouraged.
