The Actuarial Science Program at Maryville University is an Advanced Curriculum Actuarial Program of Society of Actuaries (UCAP-AC). 

The undergraduate actuarial science program at Maryville University offers a curriculum that integrates the liberal arts with professional studies in business, data science, and mathematics, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Actuarial Science. Maryville University is one of the few colleges in the nation to offer a comprehensive degree program in Actuarial Science. The coursework and professional internship opportunities of the program are specifically designed to prepare students to pass the exams of the Society of Actuaries. The Actuarial Science major requires passing one of the Society of Actuary (SOA) exams.

Prospective applicants should have a solid background in mathematics and an interest in the world of business, risk management, and technology.

He is modernizing the curriculum, tools and the professional experiences for all students, and has co-authored e-books to replace actuarial science textbooks.

Accelerated Master of Science in Actuarial Science

This unique option enables the Maryville undergraduate majoring in actuarial science to complete the master’s program in just one additional year. In this accelerated option, four courses (12 credits) taken during the senior year, as part of the undergraduate curriculum, also count toward the master’s degree. Students continue with 24 credits in the fifth year of study to complete the requirements of the master’s degree. Students with an Actuarial Science major, having 60 undergraduate credits, at least 30 of these from Maryville University, and GPA 3.6, can apply for Early Access to the Master of Science in Actuarial Science program. No GRE or TOEFL is required for Maryville students entering the accelerated master’s program.

Master of Science in Actuarial Science

The Actuarial Master Program at Maryville University offers a 36 credit hour program (12 courses) leading to the Master of Science in Actuarial Science. The 12 required courses of the program are spread across four semesters, with three courses taken each semester. Other time is spent in preparation for Society of Actuaries exams and internship training. Students in the Master in Actuarial Science program are also required to pass two Society of Actuary exams to fullfill their degree requirements.

The program allows for possible completion in three semesters. Courses are offered mainly in the evening and weekend to accommodate part­-time working students. Courses offered jointly with undergraduate students are mainly in the day.
