The goal of the program is to train professionals who are capable of practicing archaeology with their acquired general knowledge in archaeology and in selected specializations. The program provides comprehensive knowledge of a number of fields in the archaeology of Central Europe and Eurasia. It focuses on topics such as the archaeology of rituals, the archaeology of art, styles and identities, the archaeology of war, the archaeology of feasts and food, social archaeology, the archaeology of death, trade, transport and mobility. Last updated May 2021


Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a university bachelor’s (BA) degree (or an equivalent college degree) in the fields listed below. Previously earned credits for entry into the program are acknowledged in full only in case of a BA degree in Communication and Media Science or an equivalent college degree.

In the case of a BA degree from any other field of study (humanities, economics, law, informatics, arts, art communication, social sciences) the applicant must have at least 30 credits to enter the program from the fields of network communication, economics and management, cultural anthropology, culture science, communication, marketing, theory and culture of media, occupational psychology, intercultural studies, arts and art communication, linguistics, international communication, special media studies, sociology, social psychology, and PR.

  • TOEFL PBT (Paper-based test): minimum 550 or
  • TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test): minimum 80 or
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum 6

The language of instruction for the entire program is English.

Application procedure

The application starts in the online application system. Students need to register in the system, fill in the online application form, upload the required documents and follow the instructions during the application process.

Applications will only be processed if the application fee (150 EUR; non-refundable) has been transferred to the Faculty’s bank account.

The Master of Arts in Digital Media (MA-DM) is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in digital media and communications. The MA-DM provides a comprehensive introduction to today’s issues and challenges in media and communications: what is the role of the communications manager? How can organizations and individuals communicate effectively in a global and multicultural environment?

In addition to core media and communication courses, the Master of Arts in Digital Media trains young professionals to be future communication managers with courses in theory and practice: communication and media theory, intercultural communications, press and journalism, planning and evaluating communications, multimedia, executive communications, and international marketing.

Admission Requirements
