Introduction

The Central Information Commission (CIC) invites applications from eligible candidates who are currently pursuing their Master’s Degree or PhD in any discipline from a recognized university and have completed at least one year of postgraduate studies or have passed the entire course in case of three-year master’s degree students or have passed all the qualifying examinations in case of PhD students, whichever applies, as on the date of starting of internship programme.

Applicants must be a graduate with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in a recognized university/institute and have knowledge of computers.

The applicants should be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and Email application like Email, Chatting, Gmail etc; Knowledge of any other software tools such as Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign will be an added advantage.

  • The CIC encourages applications from candidates who can demonstrate language skills in Hindi/English or any other regional languages of India at least up to class VIII level. The candidates should be working on an area related to documentation, archiving and library science.

However, aspirants with Bachelors/Undergraduate degree will not be considered as eligible candidates under this scheme unless they clear one year coursework or research work towards relevant specialization in Library & Information Science / Documentation / Archival Studies / Library Automation & Online Systems.

Selection procedure

Selection of candidates for internship will be made purely on the basis of merit, i.e., marks secured in all semesters till date of filling of application form/CPI/RGPI/CPI/CGPA in all semesters till date of filling of application form and answers given by the candidate during interview via online mode. Candidates are required to select only one choice from the options provided in each question-answer option. If any candidate fails to select any one preferred choice from each question-answer option then such candidate shall not be considered for selection for internship for that particular post.

Candidates will also be evaluated on their overall performance including academic record, communication skills and behavioural traits
