As a mechatronics engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and testing robots that make our lives easier. You’ll be working with electrical engineers, industrial designers and computer programmers to create exciting new products that do everything from cleaning your house to driving cars.
As a mechatronics engineer, you can expect to work in a variety of different settings. Some companies will have their own labs where you can work on the robots directly; others may simply give you the specs and let you figure out how to build them. If you’re working in a lab setting, there will be plenty of opportunities to collaborate with other engineers. If your company doesn’t have its own lab space, though, don’t worry! You’ll still get plenty of chances to learn from other people’s expertise—and vice versa!
