Intel’s Early Internship For Software Engineering (EISE) program provides a unique opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies in software development.
EISE is a multi-year, multi-phase program that gives students the opportunity to learn and grow in their careers as they work with industry professionals. The program is designed to help students become more confident, capable software engineers and computer scientists.
The first phase of EISE introduces participants to real-world software engineering and development problems at Intel. During this phase, students learn about Intel’s industry-leading products, process improvements and best practices from senior leaders in software engineering. They also participate in technical training workshops that teach them how to develop software applications using C++ or Python programming languages.
In Phase 2, students spend up to eight weeks working on an immersive project under the guidance of an Intel mentor who helps them develop specialized skills like problem solving, teamwork techniques or communication skills through regular check-ins with their mentors throughout the semester. At the conclusion of Phase 2, each student will present their project at an end-of-semester showcase event attended by family members and friends!
