How To Become Custom Officer

Becoming a custom officer is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but it can be done. The first thing you need to do is decide if it’s the right career for you. If so, then here are some steps for how to become a custom officer.

The first step is making sure that you have the required education or training for this job. In order to become an inspector at the United States Customs Service, you must have either an associate’s degree in criminal justice or a bachelor’s degree with at least 24 credit hours in criminal justice or law enforcement related courses. If this isn’t enough education, then you’ll need to get more education at a college or university before applying for jobs as an inspector.

The next step is applying for jobs with the United States Customs Service or other agencies that hire inspectors like them such as those in charge of protecting our borders from illegal immigrants entering our country illegally by crossing over into Canada without any documentation whatsoever (which could lead us into World War III), etcetera ad infinitum ad nauseam until death do us part.

How To Become Custom Officer

For becoming a Customs Officer, students or candidates have to crack the Civil Services Examinations. The Civil Service Exam will be conducted in two different parts, one is preliminary, and another one is the main exam. Students can pursue degrees in psychology, criminal justice, and security management. The degrees will require around four years to finish. After having a bachelor’s degree, one will be considered eligible for applying in the starting level position in customs officer even if they are fresher in this particular field. For the U.S Airport Customs Officer, the minimum requirement is either having an undergraduate degree or working in security for at least 12 months. Candidates should have a proper driving license, along with proof of their citizenship. Candidates have to qualify for a drug test and personal background check. Customs officers are also associated with vital tasks, such as good skills in communication. Also, they have the ability to identify any untruthful statement during the screening process, looking for questionable or doubtful items, acting in the right way if any dangerous situation appears, and so on.
