Every human being has the nature of a Buddha. So said the Buddha – and, as this book proves, you won’t have to shave your hair, wear orange or beg in the street to become just like him. The only thing you will have to change id how you think. This is the message of leading Italian psychologist Giulio Cesare Giacobbe, who reveals a scientific discipline that – * Can be understood and practiced by anyone; *Allows you to create and compete but without stress; * Can give meaning and purpose to your life; * Can bring about your spiritual evolution. Succinct, witty and totally unconsciousness, How to become a Buddha in 5 Weeks offers you an opportunity to transform your role in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars For beginners and refreshers
Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2020
The picture is of a used book. This is a small book for those who wish to apply themselves to techniques that the author thought would be useful tool to assist with becoming a buddah. The Author uses quotes from sources of budhism concepts and writings. The author is open minded on different concepts, and does not just feature around buddhism to become a buddha, but to become a buddha in your way, such as how you were raised ex: Christian. Some of this can be confusing if you are not careful in reading. For beginners I recommend taking at a slow pace. And i do recommend this for beginners as well as those who need a refresher. Do not get discouraged in this book you will find that the majority of it is explanation leading to the end of the book which shows techniques and week practices on how to become a Buddha in 5 weeks.

I found this book in the ‘how to section’ of a brick and mortar book store.
At the time I was looking for a book on Buddhism for my son that was not ‘religious’.
That’s how I came to be in the how to section.
Anyway this book is special.
It gives you a basic insight into Buddhism without any theological B.S.
My son is an engineer. This book was exactly what he needed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good for cat litter
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2020
This dude expresses a total misunderstanding of Buddhism. It is testament to the fact that any idiot can write a book. A few examples: Giacobbe says that Buddhist monks are “parasites” (footnote 4, page 34); he says you have to be adult to be a Buddha (page 137)(not true); and most egregious of all, he correctly states that doing violence to any living creature is wrong (page 57) according to the Buddha but then goes on to state that you can be a Buddha if you kill living people so long as killing people is part of your culture (page 59)(headhunters). Then there is the pop psychology wackery he tries to sell you on (he considers himself a deep thinker) and the poor writing style (the entire book is a series of one sentence paragraphs as if full paragraphs would reduce his book to a pamphlet and he can’t make much money selling pamphlets). Please, keep this guy away from patients! Don’t waste trees 🌲 . At the risk of insulting the cat, shred this book into cat 🐈 litter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please read this book!

I read a lot of Buddhist related texts and psychotherapy texts and teach meditation for health and personal development. This is the best and most accessible book on meditation I have read in forty years of study. Written with great compassion from a psychotherapeutic position Prof. Giacobbe’s book is a self-help manual which I have recommended to friends, therapists and counsellors and had very positive feedback. I urge you to read it, buy it for presents, use it in study groups etc. I look forward to seeing more of Professor Giacobbe’s works published in English.

A lovely book. Another one that I refer to again and again. It explains such a lot, but doesn’t go on and on labouring a point. Fully recommend.

I know very little of Buddhism and don’t have much interest in religion, but this book is really about how to live a mindful aware life without suffering. If you follow where he’s pointing you will surely find the peace and happiness you crave.
The book was advertsised as used but looks like new to me. It arrive on time and without any issues.
Thanks to Giulio and World of Books!

5.0 out of 5 stars They are practical and achievable and if followed will have your feet firmly on the path to happiness in 5 weeks as promised

There have been many volumes written on Buddha and Buddhism but this little volume concentrates on the ideas that we know that Buddha taught. They are practical and achievable and if followed will have your feet firmly on the path to happiness in 5 weeks as promised. Buddhism is not about belief but about doing. Follow the path and you will be happy and your attitudes will guide others. A wonderful little book. Graham
