  •  Pay $21.00 notary application fee
  •  Purchase a notary stamp and a notary journal once you receive your Texas notary commission from the state
  •  Take the oath of office, mailed or emailed to you once you are approved as a notary by the state

The state requires each notary to pay a $21.00 state filing fee and to be bonded for $10,000. The cost of the four-year notary bond is only $50. At a minimum, a Texas notary must have a notary stamp and record to perform their notarial duties.
