Grove City College is one of the few truly independent colleges in the nation. We accept no federal funding – including federal student aid – which allows us to operate free of government interference or political influence.
In the 1970s and 80s the College made history when it refused to submit to federal control and maintained its position all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. As a result of the court’s decision, the College established its own student loan program and became the standard bearer for independent private higher education and a champion of academic freedom.
