The University of Ghana is a public university located in Legon, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1948 and it started functioning on the 27th July 1953. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as research facilities. The great majority (over 90%) of its students are from Ghana but there are also international students from other African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco and South Africa among others. There are currently about 10 000 students enrolled at the university
