Attending school tuition-free while earning a quality, Christ-centered education qualifies as a dream experience for some students. A small number of tuition-free Bible colleges exist. In most cases, students at these schools compensate for free tuition by working a certain number of hours each week or by paying nontuition fees (e.g. books, housing, activities).

The following page ranks the four tuition-free Bible colleges in the nation. For quality assurance, we only chose colleges with accreditation from an organization approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. All students must work at least 15 hours per week at on-campus sites, such as the childcare center, computer lab, and museum. Most students at SLCC enroll in the biblical studies program. Though SLCC does not offer free tuition for all four years, the college’s NexGen+ Leadership Program provides certain students with two years of free tuition, allowing them to earn an associate degree for free. You can choose from participating colleges across the USA to get the Bible education you want without incurring any tuition costs . You won’t get a degree or earn academic credits, but you will earn certificate of completion. For over 50 years the Free Bible Program has been helping people build new lives for themselves through Christian education. Today, there are nearly 200 colleges and universities offering this program in the United States. This includes not only mainstream schools, but independent schools, Bible schools, and even teaching centers that provide specialized training.

Pastor

Many people who study biblical studies go on to earn graduate degrees (MDiv, MAR, ThM) and become pastors. A degree in biblical studies will provide a biblical and theological framework that will help prepare you to serve as a leader and visionary in the church, society, and world.

Here are a few different options:

  • Associate Pastor
  • Children’s Pastor
  • Youth Pastor
  • Teaching Pastor
  • Community Life Pastor
  • Spiritual Development Pastor

Missionary

A Christian missionary is anyone who is commissioned by the Lord to make disciples. While many Christians think that missionaries are people who leave their homes and go to a developing nation to evangelize, missionaries come in all shapes and sizes.

There are many missionaries who go to “First World” countries to witness and build a community in Christ. Some are long-term missionaries who work in community development or plant churches. Others are short-term missionaries and spend time teaching English as a form of ministry.

As all Christians are called to be ambassadors of Christ, a degree in biblical studies will prepare anyone seeking to preach, teach, and share the gospel in order to transform the lives of others.

Director

Many churches have full-time staff members, and a degree in biblical studies can help secure a job as a director of a branch of ministry in the church. As directors lead teams, make decisions, and work closely with other church members, it is important that they have a biblical foundation upon which to base their decisions.

There are many different kinds of directors in the church:

  • Christian Education Director
  • Children’s Programs Director
  • Vacation Bible School Director
  • Youth Director
  • Worship Director
  • Women’s Ministry Director

Teacher

Some biblical studies majors go on to become teachers. To teach in the public school system, you will have to earn certifications from the State. However, some private schools, including many Christian schools, do not require teacher certification, so a degree in biblical studies will provide you with a model for Christian education and give you a leg up on your competitors.

Writer/Editor

Those who major in biblical studies spend much of their time reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting Scripture. As a result, many go on to find employment as writers and editors. A degree in biblical studies can help you become a writer and editor for both Christian and non-Christian magazines, newspapers, and various online platforms.

Chaplain

A chaplain is typically a minister who provides religious services and counsel. If you feel called to serve as a minister but want to focus on a specific ministry, consider working as a chaplain. As a chaplain, you can serve a variety of contexts depending on your gifts and passions. You can work in places like the following institutions:

  • Prisons
  • US Military (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Air Force)
  • Professional Sports Teams
  • Hospitals
  • College/University
  • Police/Fire Department

Human Service Worker

Many students who are interested in majoring in Bible have a heart for serving those in need and pursue further education to work in counseling and social services fields. Some popular careers in these fields include the following:

  • Case Worker
  • Family and Child Social Worker
  • Substance Abuse Counselor
  • Probation Officer
  • School Guidance Counselor
  • Public Health Social Workers
  • Mental Health Counselor
  • Clinical Psychologist

If you have a strong interest in the Christian faith and have a desire to help and serve others, a degree in biblical studies may be right for you. Although many people think that biblical studies majors only go on to become pastors, your college major can lead you to many jobs, fields, and even to graduate school to pursue another vocation or specialization. Your undergraduate degree is just the beginning!

Our school has produced thousands of alumni who minister God’s Word faithfully around the world. Affiliation – Accreditation

Freelandia is denominationally unaffiliated. The faculty, administration and students are members of various denominational or independent churches. Our college and seminary serves those who are of like Biblical faith, who seek true spiritual growth and fruitfulness in their lives and service to Jesus Christ.

Freelandia Institute is chartered by the state of Minnesota and registered as a foreign corporation under the state of Virginia. It is exempt from regulations of the Council of Higher Education for the state of Virginia as a religious institution. We believe in the separation of church and state. Our programs are endorsed by the 1400 member Evangelical Church Alliance plus hundreds of Bible believing churches and pastors. Freelandia Bible College & Seminary does not have Secular Regional Accreditation.

Freelanida is a Chrisitan college that has elected not to pursue secular education approval. Obtaining secular approval would force Freelandia to teach secular courses with secular guidelines. Freelandia’s vision and focus is MINISTRY ONLY! Freelandia believes that the local church should not be under secular guidelines. Therefore, a Christian college that trains pastors for local churches should NOT be under secular guidelines. Seeking secular accreditation has not been found in God’s will or in God’s Word.

Doctrinal Statement

Freelandia is committed to the biblical doctrines of the Christian faith held throughout the centuries by Bible believing Christians; the infallibility of all the Scriptures as originally given by inspiration of God and perfectly preserved in the Authorized King James Version as the sole and final authority on all matters of faith, life and every area it touches; the unity of God in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the direct creation and fall of man as opposed to evolution; the Deity, virgin birth, sinlessness, vicarious death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; the total depravity of man; his absolute need of regeneration by the Holy Spirit; the all-sufficiency of Christ’s death for our salvation which is received by faith alone; the eternal security and the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit in every believer today; the true Church as Christ’s body and bride; the local church as His agency for spiritual edification and evangelism; the personal imminent, pre-millennial, pre-tribulational rapture of the Church, and the return of Christ in glory and power; and a literal eternal heaven and hell. The two big issues for which God will require a full accounting are: “What have you done with My Book?! What have you done with My Son?!” (This doctrinal statement is subscribed to be the administration and all faculty members. The school is not charismatic or pentecostal.)
