Espoo International School is a private school for students aged 3 to 19 years. At ESP, we aspire to offer a school environment where personal development, citizenship and global awareness are fostered through a student-centred approach. Espoo International School
Espoo International School is a joint comprehensive school operating in Opinmäki campus and Kivimies campus. EIS constitutes a uniform, international English-language comprehensive school with approximately 700 pupils in grades 1–9.
Espoo International School offers international education in the English language for international and Finnish families living in Espoo. Furthermore, we provide pupils with the knowledge, skills and linguistic abilities to go on to further education in English, either through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), to Finnish upper secondary schools, or elsewhere.
At EIS, we follow the renowned Finnish National Curriculum in all grades. Furthermore, Espoo International is an International Baccalaureate (IB) authorized school. EIS offers the Middle Years Program (MYP)(extrernal link) within a three year period to grade 7-9 students in addition to National Core Curriculum.

School Year 2021-2022
Autumn term begins on 11th of August 2021 and ends on 22nd of December 2021.
- Autumn holiday: 18th October 2021 – 22nd October 2021
- Christmas holiday: 23rd of December 2021 – 9th January 2022
Spring term begins on 10th January 2022 and ends on Saturday 4th of June 2022.

Basic Education (grades 1-9)
EIS offers basic education for pupils in grades 1-9. The education follows the Finnish National Core curriculum, The municipal curriculum of Espoo and Espoo International School curriculum 2016. The main language of instruction is English and is meant for children whose mother tongue is English, who speak the language fluently due to an international background or who otherwise have obtained an adequate command of English.
Middle Years Education (grades 7-9)
EIS is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) authorized school. We offer the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) within a three-year period to grade 7-9 pupils. At EIS all students must study Finnish and English language (English is A1-language, that starts from the 1st grade). From the 6th grade pupils start studying B1-language, Swedish. In addition to mandatory Finnish, English and Swedish studies, we offer elective/voluntary studies in Spanish or French (A2-language, starts in the 4th grade) and in German, Spanish and Russian language (B2-language: starts in the 8th grade).
