School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM)As a school that upholds the interdisciplinary and integrative orientation of environmental science, SESAM espouses principles from agriculture, biology, forestry, sociology, anthropology, mathematics and statistics, geology, meteorology, soil science and other related fields. It focuses on understanding the dynamics of environmental issues arising from the interaction of the human population and the biophysical environment. It involves the participation of various domains from the natural, social, and engineering sciences and humanities. It seeks to understand the totality of the environment that human society has created.SESAM was named a Commission on Higher Education Center of Excellence (COE) for 2015-2018. The School publishes the Journal of Environmental Science and Management (JESAM), a Web of Science- and Elsevier-Scopus-indexed journal. It has laboratories for Landscape Ecology, GIS and Simulation, Human Dimensions, Ecosystems Service and Policy, Environmental Analysis, and Earth Systems Research. It also hosts the Climate Risk Studies Center.ResearchSESAM implements interdisciplinary researches, such as the National Program for Integrated Crop Monitoring and Forecasting System, Monitoring and Detection of Ecosystems Changes for Enhancing Resilience and Adaptation (MODECERA), and the Exploration, Mapping, and Assessment of Deep Water Areas for Benham Rise. The School of Environmental Science and Management is one of the eleven degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños. It was created in 1977 in response to calls for a multidisciplinary effort to address environmental degradation amid economic development.

SESAM implements interdisciplinary researches, such as the National Program for Integrated Crop Monitoring and Forecasting System, Monitoring and Detection of Ecosystems Changes for Enhancing Resilience and Adaptation (MODECERA), and the Exploration, Mapping, and Assessment of Deep Water Areas for Benham Rise. The College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology is one of the eleven degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines, Los Baños. It began as the Department of Agricultural Engineering under the College of Agriculture in 1912.
