To receive the Engineering Scholarship Program listed below and priority consideration for competitive scholarship awards, students must be admitted to the main campus and have completed the consolidated scholarship application before Jan. 15, 2021. UA’s consolidated scholarship application includes all scholarships provided through the College of Engineering. Submission of the consolidated scholarship application is required for the Engineering Scholarship Program.

To complete the scholarship application as an incoming freshman:

  1. Go to University of Alabama website
  2. Login and click the Admissions/Scholarships link from the main menu
  3. Then select the Application for Scholarships link within the Scholarships section of the page.

If additional funding is available, test-optional scholarship opportunities for the College of Engineering will be awarded based on core GPA and the consolidated scholarship application. Students that submit a scholarship application by the priority deadline, Jan. 15, 2021, can expect to receive notification of any competitive scholarships awarded by the first week of March.

Those who meet the criteria listed for Engineering Leadership Scholarships will receive the College of Engineering’s four-year, merit-based scholarship listed below. Please visit UA’s Undergraduate Scholarships for Entering Freshman Students page for full information on scholarship application requirements for entering freshmen.

Incoming freshmen must declare a major within UA’s College of Engineering by May 1, 2021, to qualify for the Engineering Scholarship Program. Students must maintain enrollment in a College of Engineering degree program to receive any College of Engineering scholarship. For more information, read the policies for scholarship retention.

Engineering Scholarship Program for 2021 – 2022 Academic Year
College of Engineering four-year merit based scholarship packages are awarded to incoming first-time freshman who are admitted by the priority deadline of January 15, 2021 and have filled out UA’s consolidated scholarship application, have a qualifying score on the ACT or SAT by the end of February, and have at least a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA through December of the senior year. Students must fall into one of the following test score ranges:
Engineering Leadership Scholarship
$2,500/year for 4 years
ACT: 30-36 composite score
SAT: 1360-1600 score on redesigned exam
These awards are automatically offered to freshmen entering Fall 2021 directly from high school, regardless of residency. Engineering Scholarship Program awards will stack on top of scholarships offered by Undergraduate Admissions (excepting National Merit Finalist packages). Students must declare an Engineering major by May 1, 2021, to qualify.Should a merit scholarship recipient be named a National Merit Finalist, their Engineering Leadership Scholarship will be replaced by the National Merit Finalist Scholarship Package.
Please note, depending on the source of funding, the Engineering Leadership Scholarship may be renamed on student bills and financial aid correspondence. This will not affect the dollar amount of your scholarship award from semester to semester.

A Note About Test Scores

  • Test scores must be from a single sitting (no super scoring) taken by February 2021 or earlier.
  • The optional writing section in the redesigned SAT will not be required for admissions or scholarship purposes.
  • The writing section of the ACT will no longer be required for admissions or scholarship purposes.

Currently Enrolled Student Scholarships

Currently enrolled students not already part of the Engineering Scholarship Program may apply for scholarships each year in their myBama account. Once you are logged in, you will click on the Admissions/Scholarships tab and then the Currently Enrolled Students link inside the Scholarships box. Awarding is subject to availability of funds. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2021. Entering freshmen and transfer students will gain access to the scholarship application after completing one semester.

How to Apply

The College of Engineering has one general application that needs to be completed for the majority of scholarships awarded through our college.  This one application will let you be considered for all eligible scholarships awarded by our scholarship committee.  Each scholarship has its own specific requirements (major, GPA, class status, financial need, leadership, etc.).  Note: these awards are only for currently enrolled undergraduate students.

When to Apply

The deadline for 2019-2020 Academic Scholarships is Friday, January 31, 2020.

The Jag$POT application for the College of Engineering is available at the beginning of Fall Semester and will remain open until the second Friday of February.  The application is for scholarships awarded the following academic year.

University of Alabama Engineering Scholarship Programme

Students, who are interested in engineering and planning to pursue a degree in this amazing field, have a wonderful chance to fund their higher education through the University of Alabama’s Engineering Scholarship Programme. This is a very exciting four years long, merit-based scholarship package dedicated to find and support the new talents in the field of engineering. This programme is developed to benefit to incoming freshmen students enrolled into an undergraduate course at the University of Alabama’s College of engineering.

This scholarship will be allocated based on students’ academic merit. With the cost of engineering courses is touching the sky, it can be challenging for most of the students who belong to a financially disadvantaged background to gain higher education in this field after completing high school. To help students overcome all financial odds, the University of Alabama has brought this wonderful scholarship. It will lessen the burden of education cost for students and open up the gateway of an excellent career with lots of opportunities. With the help of this fund, students can fully focus on their studies without being concerned about expenses and maintain a good academic record.

Who May Be Eligible?

Scholarships for Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering 2018-2019

Candidates who stand on the following norms are eligible to compete and receive this scholarship programme:

  • Applicants should be incoming freshmen;
  • Candidates must be taking part in an undergraduate course at the University of Alabama’s College of engineering;
  • The scholarship will be offered based on merit.

How to Apply

Candidates must apply first for an undergraduate course available at the University of Alabama’s College of engineering before the admission deadline. After successfully taking admission, they will need to complete UA’s consolidated scholarship application. Submission of the consolidated scholarship application is required for the engineering scholarship program.

Benefits

This scholarship is worth $2,500. This award will be awarded per year throughout the length of the eligible course to students who meet the requirements of the university. This financial award will support eligible students to pursue undergraduate level education at the University of Alabama’s College of engineering.

Applications must be submitted no later than January 15, 2021.

The School of Engineering is committed to providing scholarships to high-achieving incoming and current students. Most scholarships and awards range in value between $500 and $1,500. Support for UAB Engineering scholarships is provided by a number of corporate and private partners, including American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO), BE&K, Dupuis Family Trust, and Vulcan Materials.

Students must apply through UAB’s online Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool, BSMART, to receive consideration for School of Engineering scholarships. BSMART allow students to search, review requirements, apply, and accept awards for available scholarship opportunities, all within one easy-to-use site.
