Engineer Salary At Tesla

Tesla is a world-class innovator in the automotive industry. The company is on the cutting edge of green technology, and its products are top-of-the-line. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has long been a proponent of sustainable energy practices and electric vehicles, so it makes sense that he would also employ engineers who share his vision.

However, engineers at Tesla tend to be paid less than their counterparts at other companies because they are compensated for their work in equity rather than cash. This means that although an engineer might earn less initially than he or she would at another firm, he or she will eventually earn more through the value of his or her shares in the company.

Not the best job for a design professional

Engineer (Former Employee) – Palo Alto, CA – April 26, 2018

Not a bad place to work, but I did not feel like I had enough freedom to improve the quality of the products and services. Focus on speed & production at the expense of quality & customer service.

Pros

Salary & bonuses above average

Cons

A little too focused on speed & production at the expense of quality & customer service
