Here, at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at TUKS, we are extremely well equipped to provide prospective engineers with the necessary training and knowledge to enable them to make a meaningful contribution in this area. Not only is the Department the biggest in the country, it also offers the largest number of specialisation fields. The Department has unique ties with industry and one of the advantages this holds for our students is the fact that they are in demand; not only in the local market, but internationally as well.

All degree programmes of the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and are recognised as meeting the initial academic requirements for Professional Engineer in South Africa. International recognition of these programmes is also provided through the Washington Accord.

The School for the Built Environment

The School for the Built Environment is the largest of its kind in the country. Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are offered in architecture, quantity surveying, construction management, real estate, and town and regional planning.
